Walking Photon
Coming soonA simulation inspired by the walking droplet phenomenon, first discovered by Couder et al. in 2005. The “droplets” in this sim are something like photons — solitons — that can get trapped in standing waves, forming various knots like circles, ovals and lemniscates, while also interacting with each other.
Very addictive.
Self-trapping
A soliton steers on the wake of its own past path, and can be caught by it.
Knots
Trapped paths settle into circles, ovals and lemniscates.
Interaction
Solitons are not run in isolation — they act on one another.
